Half-Life 2: Episode One comes to the Nvidia SHIELD Tablet

The popular game will be free for those owning the LTE-enabled version of the SHIELD Tablet.*

The launch of Half-Life 2 and Portal for Nvidia’s SHIELD console was already an impressive milestone, and Nvidia is continuing the streak of offering PC games to SHIELD owners with the release of Half-Life 2: Episode One*for the SHIELD Tablet. Nvidia isn’t offering SHIELD console owners to step*into the shoes of Gordon Freeman, which isn’t exactly surprising considering the game would require considerable processing power that only the Tegra K1 inside the SHIELD Tablet would be able to provide.

The mobile port of Half-Life 2: Episode One*seems quite similar to its PC version, though Nvidia has added some goodies like*an extra chapter for more story and action. The game is available for $7.99 from the Google Play Store*for the Wi-Fi variant of the tablet, while owners of the LTE model can get it for free. The install size is rather large at 3GB, though for anyone wanting to play a part of one of the best first-person shooter series will likely be more than willing to clear some space on their SHIELD tablet to try out*Half-Life 2: Episode One.
