The rollout will begin well within the 90-day update guarantee period for HTC’s flagship.*
HTC was quick to assure owners of its flagship devices that they would be on Android 5.0 Lollipop*within 90 days after it was released by Google, announcing its plans before even the name of Android 5.0 was confirmed. It seems the Taiwanese manufacturer looks set to deliver on its promise, as it has announced at a closed event in London that the HTC One M8 will start receiving its Lollipop update from January 3rd.
Even the original HTC One is expected to receive the update on the same day; if that happens, HTC would certainly get some applause considering we don’t often see yesteryear devices get updates so quickly. Of course, as is always the case, it will be a few weeks before the Lollipop update rolls out to the two devices in every region, but an early start would certainly fetch HTC plenty of brownie points.
