HTC A12 specifications leak online, February launch tipped

The A12 should help HTC further extend its currently lacking mid-range lineup.*

HTC seems to be taking a leaf out of Samsung’s book and working on a lot of mid-range devices. The company has launched numerous*mid-range Android smartphones in the past couple of months, and a new leak has brought info on yet another such device in the making. Dubbed the A12, this new phone is expected to be launched in February, with all major carriers in the US reportedly on-board to sell it to consumers.

In terms of specs, the A12 is said to feature a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, a 4.7-inch 720p display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2,100mAh battery. Rumored to have dimensions of*139.8 x 69.5 x 9.5 mm, the A12 will run Android 4.4.4 KitKat with HTC’s Sense UI – given the supposed February launch, it’s surprising the phone isn’t running Android 5.0 out of the box, although*it’s possible that will change by the time the A12 is ready to go up for sale.

Unfortunately, the leak doesn’t include any pictures of the device. It will likely follow the design language of HTC’s other mid-range phones, but it would be unwise to come to any conclusions until more details make their way to the outside world.
