Chinese hackers jailbreak iOS 8.2 before official release

Apple isn’t expected to roll out the iOS 8.2 update for its mobile devices at least until a couple of weeks, but surprisingly Chinese iOS hacker group TaiG has managed to release a jailbreak for the version already. iOS 8.2 is in beta form currently and is only available for developers who are interested in testing out the release to optimize their apps for it. It also comes with the new WatchKit SDK that allows developers to come up with apps for the upcoming Apple Watch that is expected to release by early next year.

The new jailbreak by TaiG not only works on iOS 8.2 beta but can also be used to jailbreak any iPhone or iPad running the latest iOS 8.1.1 version as well. The previous versions of iOS 8 right from the initial iOS 8 release are also supported by the new release. The app has been tested to work on all devices that are listed as compatible with iOS 8 version by Apple. Jailbreak is usually a very simple process and doesn’t require much time and effort like rooting on Android devices. Like any other jailbreak tool, TaiG also jailbreaks your device in just a few minutes and all you need to do is connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer and run the jailbreak tool.

The TaiG jailbreak tool can be downloaded from their official website. Unfortunately the TaiG jailbreak tool is currently available only for Windows operating system and cannot be installed on Mac OSX devices. There is however a workaround for Mac users. You would need to download the Windows 10 Technical Preview to your Mac and install it on a virtual machine using a software like Parallels. Once Windows 10 is installed on your Mac, you can simply download the TaiG jailbreak tool and install it to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch 5G.
