I purchased an Apple 5C from Starhub in Feb 2014.Since last week, the touch screen has not been responsive. I took it to the Apple authorised service centre in Singapore ( A-Lab, Plaza Singapura) for repair.
The phone was examined and refused repair on grounds of tampering by third parites. Now, this is strange because I have not faced any issue so far ( Feb to May) and obviously, I have not had a need to get it repaired by a third party vendor.
Why would Apple refuse service then? Honestly, I was willing to pay ( since it is within limited warranty), but this refusal is shocking! The phone was purchased on contract from Starhub ( official re-seller).
How can I prove that my phone has not been tampered with and request for support from Apple? Is there a tiny possibility that Starhub has changed components within my phone? Has any one faced similar issues?
My warranty is valid until Feb 2015 and I don't want to go to a third party vendor. I will appreciate any suggestions, help. If none, my last resort may be to get it fixed by other vendor ;-(
