I've had this buildlog running on ocn for some time now, Dave asked me to post one here too, so yeah :P
soooo, about a year ago, my acer aspire 4552 decided to die on me, so I had to source out an old pc from a friend - got one, pentium 4 631.
that sucked.
so, I decided to build myself a system - I've had enough of laptops.
looking around at the local stores for pc stuff, I've came up with something along the lines of FX8350 and a HD7770.
after another half a year, I asked for help on ocn, and this dude - Dave decided to help me through with everything. (he's awesome :P)
well, he was the only person to successfully convince me to get an intel chip over amd, sooooo yeah.
Why "Tree Diagram" ?
Well, I felt like I needed to name my build, instead of listing the specs in the title (like it used to be for those that had been here long enough)
Anyways, for those that get the reference, this is basically the most powerful (and overkill) computer in my school :P
and for those that don't get the reference, "Tree Diagram" is the name given to a supercomputer that is mounted on a satellite in a certain anime series, so most powerful computer in my school plus the fact that the case I have is a cosmos II, (space?) is the reason why I am naming this build Project "Tree Diagram"
Now, back to the build:
Here are the specs I have decided on:
Case: Cooler Master Cosmos II ✔
PSU: Corsair HX650 ✔
HDD: WD AV GP 3TB ✔
SSD: Plextor M5S 128GB ✔
Processor: Intel Xeon X5650 ✔
Mobo: Rampage III Extreme ✔
Graphics Card: MSI R7970 Lighting ✔
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 1600 8gb kit ✔
DVD Drive: Acer Slot Load Drive ✔
Here are the specs for the watercooling loop:
Pump: Corsair D4 ✔
WaterBlock: XSPC RayStorm CPU WaterBlock ✔
GPU WaterBlock: EK-FC7970 Lightning ✔
Radiator: Magicool 360 Radiator ✔
Radiator: XSPC RX240 ✔
Reservoir: XSPC Dual 5.25" Bay Reservoir ✔
Tubing: BykskI Blue tubing 2m ✔
Compression Fitting: Barrow compression fittings x8 ✔
Fan: AVC DA12025B12L x9 ✔
Fan Filter: 120mm dust filter x3 ✔
Fan Grill: 120mm fan grill x10 ✔
(I'm changing over to acrylic, trying to sell off most of the soft tubing components now :P)
anyways, stay tuned for more updates :D
