Asus had some exciting announcements at Computex 2014 today:**a 4K Ultrabook, phone/tablet hybrid and a 12.5-inch QHD tablet
Zenbook NX500
The Zenbook NX500 is the first Ultrabook from Asus to offer a 4K display. With a 15.6-inch screen size and resolution of 3840 x 2160, the NX500 has a pixel density of ppi. The NX500 is also the first notebook to feature Asus’ VisualMaster technology that provides 100 percent NTSC color gamut and comes calibrated from the factory.
In terms of internal hardware, the NX500 is configurable with an Intel Core i7 CPU, 16 GB DDR3 RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 850 video card and a Broadcom wireless modem that delivers Wi-Fi ac connectivity. With an overall weight of 2.2 kg and a thickness of 19 mm, the NX500 will be one of the most powerful Ultrabooks once it launches later this year. Shih did not mention how much the NX500 will cost, but considering the 4K screen and the form factor, this should be a pricey offering.*
Along with the Zenbook, Asus has unveiled two new models in the Transformer series: the Transformer Book V and the Transformer Book T300 Chi.*

Transformer Book V
The Transformer Book V is essentially a 5-inch phone that can be docked to a 12.5-inch tablet. The phone runs Android, and the tablet can be used as a standalone Windows tablet. When docked, you can either use the hybrid device in five modes: a Windows tablet, a Windows laptop, an Android phone, an Android tablet and an Android laptop.*
As for hardware, the Transformer Book V runs Intel first 64-bit Moorefield quad-core chip with built-in LTE, 2 GB RAM, 2500 mAh battery, 8MP/2MP cameras, and up to 64 GB of internal storage. The tablet offers 128 GB storage, 4 GB RAM and has a 28Wh battery that delivers 10 hours of battery life on a single charge.

While the Book V aims for versatility, the Transformer Book T300 Chi is designed to offer the best performance in a sleek form factor. The tablet is the world’s thinnest 12.5-inch tablet, according to Asus. Boasting a thickness of 7 mm, which goes up to 14.3 mm once you attach the keyboard dock, the T300 Chi is incredibly thin, considering the hardware it features. The tablet has a QHD screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, 4G LTE connectivity, and may be the first device to feature Intel’s Broadwell hardware, as Shih said during the demo that the Chi runs on “Intel’s next-generation, high-performance, low-power processor based on the Core micro-architecture.”*
Availability and launch territories of either Transformer model weren’t mentioned at the event, but as soon as Asus announces these details, we’ll share them with you.*
