Review Lumia 630

The Nokia Lumia 630 is one of the first smartphones release after the acquisition of Nokia by Microsoft. Now the company known as Microsoft Mobile as of April 25th, 2014 is a subsidiary of the parent company Microsoft

Available in bright colors the Nokia Lumia 630 is a dual SIM smartphone that inherits most of the design from previous version of Nokia smartphones. However the most exciting part of the latest Lumia 630 is the upgrade version of Windows phone 8 to windows phone 8.1. A 0.1 version upgrade may seem very small, however Microsoft has done a great job in improving a lot of minor features.

Lumia 630 has a plastic shell with rounded corners with the power button located on the middle right side of the phone.

The display screen size is about 4.5 inches and resolution of 854 x 480 pixels.

With a lower RAM of only 512 MB and memory size of 8GB this phone is considered entry level smartphone with and Dual SIM. Thanks to a micro SD, the memory can be further extended to a maximum of 128GB capacity.

The back cover can be removed and replaced with different color shell accessory. The battery pack is removable and has a capacity of 1800 mAH with about 13.1 hours talk time.

With a 1.2 GHz Quad Core/ Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor making the windows interface load quite fast as the android and apple phones.

Windows 8.1 phone update

One of the significant changes to windows 8.1 phone is that on the home screen, you can now have more tile icons displayed, simply by scrolling down or show more at the bottom of the screen.

lso another great feature of the Windows 8.1 is the wallpaper. You can customize your screen to have a background image as a wallpaper with the Windows tile icons on the foreground.

The third feature on the Windows 8.1 I think will be loved by android users. Similar to the interface task bar for Android users, Windows 8.1 phone has the same interface called Action center. It displays the list of apps and notifications that are running on the phone. You can also view settings for Bluetooth, Camera etc.

We took a shot of the Expansys red car with the Lumia 630 of 5 Mega pixels lens at autofocus. The video capturing is about 720p High definition. Unfortunately the camera does not have a flash.

Other technical specs of the Lumia 630 phone

Lumia 630 is available in 3G network bandwidth of the range from 900/21 MHz/GSM:850/900/1800/1900 Mhz and Bluetooth version 4.0 WiFi -IEEE 802.11 b/g/n. The phone weighs in at 134 grams and a size of 129.5 mm height, 66.6 mm width and thickness of 9.2 mm.

Overall benchmark test for the Lumia 630 came to be about 11843 the CPU performance is pretty good and the phone is compared well against Samsung i8700 and Lumia 800.
