New leak shows the differences between the Moto G and Moto G2

The leak reiterates that the Moto G2 will bring just the right amount of upgrades*while keeping a price tag similar to Motorola’s highly successful Moto G.

Hardware details*of the Moto G2 have been leaked*a few times in the last couple of months, so the differences between the device and its predecessor aren’t exactly a surprise to anyone. However, a new leak by the folks over at hellomotoHK brings a side-by-side comparison of the two devices, and also includes live photos of the Moto G2 from both the front and back.

Compared to the Moto G, the Moto G2 will feature narrower bezels, an upgraded 8-megapixel primary camera, stereo front-facing speakers, and a microSD slot, the lack of which was lamented by many on the original Moto G. Like the Moto G, the Moto G2 will also come with removable back covers, and Motorola will likely offer various colors and materials (like wood and bamboo) for these back covers.

Earlier leaks have revealed that the Moto G2 will feature a 5-inch 720p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, dual SIM slots, and 8GB of internal storage (a 16GB option will likely be available as well.) An official announcement is expected to take place early next month, alongside the Moto X+1 and Motorola’s highly-anticipated Moto 360 smartwatch.
