'Hotline Miami 2' to wreak multi-platform havoc in Q3 2014

Dennaton has just revealed the official release window for Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, the sequel to the gritty cult indie that took the gaming world by storm in 2012.

With Hotline Miami 2, Dennaton*Games continues the chaotic murder-filled romp through insanity and violence set forth by the first installment, introducing gamers to an expanding story arc with more of the same top-down retro action. The first chapter exploded within the gaming sphere back in 2012, earning a place within both mainstream and indie gaming communities with its unique and rather stylish visuals and content.

On the success of the first game, Dennaton announced the development of Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number , but details have been a bit mysterious–until now.

In a recent Tweet, Dennaton has revealed that gamers can expect to jump back into the chaotic and mind-bending world of Hotline Miami in Q3 2014:

Wrong Number will feature a variety of upgrades and additions including new weapons, a smattering of new sprites and animations–all with that same stylish retro flair–along with a brand new soundtrack to fuel the carnage. The story arc has been described as a twisting path that splinters off into many different parts, and gamers will be able to play as different characters throughout twenty gore-filled missions.
“A brutal conclusion to the gruesome saga, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number follows the escalating level of violence through multiple factions born from the events of the original game and driven by uncertain motivations. Step into the murderous mind of several distinct characters – each with their own motivations and methods of execution – as storylines intersect and reality slips away into a haze of neon and carnage. Blistering combat, an unmistakable visual style, and a powerfully intense soundtrack will once again push you to the limit and questioning your own thirst for blood.”

The sequel is planned for a multi-platform release on PC & Mac, PlayStation 4, and the PS Vita in*Q3 2014. Be sure to jump on over to the game’s*official website*for more information.
