Looking for a flat all-in-one speaker (i.e. no external amp required) to pair with an LCD TV in a small room. Thinking something less than 5 inches deep. Can be put onto a thin shelf or wall mounted. Only input required is RCA or stereo analog in.
Sound quality, not of the most import, but obviously it has to be better than the built-in speakers (which suck). My baseline is something like Audio engine A2. Price <$1k is preferred.
Anyone has any experience to share with nice products?
The usual suspects would be sound bars and portable speakers, where portable speakers have an advantage due to alternative usage. I'm not sure how good would a Sony, foxl, logitech or bose portable speaker would sound versus a cheap soundbar really.
Largest soundbar I can probably take is something like the Sonos soundbar size.
