The update is a minor one that should fix important bugs in Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Many Nexus users are probably still waiting for Android 5.0 Lollipop to hit their devices, but that hasn’t stopped Google from starting to roll out the Android 5.0.1 update. Source code for Android 5.0.1 is currently rolling out to AOSP with build number*LRX22C; factory images for the*Nexus 9 (WiFi), Nexus 7 2013 (WiFi), and Nexus 10 can already be downloaded*from Google’s website, and the over-the-air update is also expected to go live very soon.
Google hasn’t offered a changelog for Android 5.0.1 yet, but the update should fix some of the issues that have plagued Nexus devices ever since they were*updated to Lollipop. Android 5.0.1 is said to be on its way to Android Wear as well, with dramatically improved battery life one of the main features. As usual, it will be a few days before the new update is downloaded to every eligible device out there, but it’s good to see the search giant is being quick about fixing issues introduced by what is the largest update to Android in recent years.
