Xbox One update lets you set your own homescreen background



Microsoft has released another update for the Xbox One, and though there’s nothing extremely flashy about it, it’s always nice to switch things up.

Here are some of the new features:

  • The update enables you to set the background for the Xbox One’s homescreen. You can just plug in your thumb drive with the JPG or PNG and hit ‘Set as background’ while viewing the images in Media Player.* Different profiles can have different backgrounds.

  • Display your achievements and recorded gameplay through the “Showcase” items.

  • You can now tweet recorded gameplays and check out what TV shows are trending on Xbox One’s built-in TV guide.

  • Mobile users can now begin downloading “Games With Gold” games onto the Xbox while they’re away from home. This allows you to not never miss another freebie again.


This update isn’t big by any means, and it appears Microsoft is holding back somewhat to negate the risk of ruining people’s holiday season with a big buggy update.
