What is really inside those PSUs that come bundled with cases?

It's not gutless as such but I've seen larger resistors (It's a joke, I am an EE) in power supplies than I did on most of the inductors/transformers on this thing.

Nothing of your previous gutless wonders say "weak" and "junk"

Let's start off with the joke of a label. Starter course for all.

NOTE: The fan has been replaced with a Nidec D08S or something the original fan was so loud and crappy it had the airflow of a tunnel boring machine, which is nein and it was loud as one in fact.

This PSU actually had PCB markings for ACTIVE PFC and was left out, you know, money is important, better save the PFC.

Yup. Rated for 12A @ 25C on the diode for 12V. That is if it can be 25C.

The 3.3V and 5V are both 16A @ 25C

Primary switchers. C5027+2x 13007

At least the caps are away from what's important

Bridge rectifiers? Nah. Saving money here.

It's barely taller than the TO-220 diode.

And all those caps of the same height are of the same variety

I wish I had something to blow this up with
