Some iPhone 6 units reportedly have faulty memory

The issue has been reported in both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus units.

Earlier this week it was widely reported that many iPhone 6 owners were not particularly happy with their units because they happened to be crashing and rebooting at will. This particular report pointed out the issue in 128GB iPhone 6 Plus units. This then led to chatter that perhaps Apple would be conducting a massive recall operation but*that*rumor was quickly refuted. Apple is not recalling any iPhone 6 units as of now.

But now another report has been published which once again point to such issues with Apple’s latest smartphones. The report, which originates from South Korea, claims that there might possibly by a memory controller issue in several iPhone 6 units. Apparently both iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6 units are found to be affected by this memory controller issue, and since its hardware, Apple may not be able to simply fix it through a software update.

Word on the street now is that Apple may make a change to another type of NAND flash memory technology so as to avoid having to deal with these issues once again. So far the company has not publicly confirmed any such issues with iPhone 6 Plus or iPhone 6 and it can not be said for sure right now whether or not a recall will be conducted.

This isn’t the only issue that has plagued the launch of Apple’s new iPhones. There’s the whole #bendgate phenomenon which is still going strong, despite Apple’s claims that it only ever received nine complaints of iPhone 6 Plus units being bent under normal use.
