Samsung SM-G430 leaks with a 5.5" 1080p display and Snapdragon 801 chipset

The SM-G430 seems to be a run-of-the-mill high-end phablet.

Samsung is currently working on simplifying its smartphone lineup by streamlining both its devices’ names and their model numbers (with simple model numbers like SM-E500 and SM-J100.) However, it looks like the company still has some cruft to get rid of, as a device with model number SM-G430 and run-of-the-mill high-end specs has now surfaced online.

The SM-G430 recently made its way to India for testing, and the import tracking database Zauba reveals that it has a 5.5-inch display. Other specs of the device can be seen on its user agent profile on Samsung’s website, which lists a 2.5GHz processor (likely a Snapdragon 801), 1080p display resolution, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

From the looks of it, the SM-G430 could be a phablet that tries to take on the iPhone 6 Plus with a cheaper price tag and comparable specs.*The model number suggests it could be a device specific to a particular market like China or South Korea, though at this point it’s up to future leaks to fill in all the blanks.
