A certain friend of mine (If I do disclose he will definitely rage at me and maybe even start trying to kill my rep here, I think some of you can guess who it is already) told me that it will DEFINITELY be cheaper than SLS and to kill retail by undercutting everyone else ...
how much of it is accurate?
If we break down the parts cost the same PC at SLS can be done for about 1399$ not 1668$ (Without OS of course) and my quote is without cutting down on any parts
First let's start with the basics,
the case is actually a NZXT Source 340. Hydra told me it's cheaper than the Enthoo pro so around 139$?
Secondly putting a mATX mobo in a ATX case looks just weird. But otherwise the H97M Pro4 isn't a particularly expensive mobo nope it's a cheap one.
GTX970 you may say it's priced like that because of that part but no, the truth is that you can get a Zotac GTX970 for 509 right off the bat ;)
Thirdly, Samsung TLC SSDs have issues.
For 1668 this is what I had built for my customer :
H97-Performance + i5-4590
Jonsbo W2 (A really nice case)
Corsair Vengeance 1600 8x2GB DDR3 RAM
3TB Toshiba 7200rpm HDD (It is a hitachi 7K3000 inside)
Crucial MX100 256GB
Zotac GTX970
Superflower HX600
Deepcool Lucifer (Unnecessary but it would look a bit weak if it didn't have a big heatsink)
Now, the "SFF" version
http://ift.tt/1w91g0H
It's a Lian Li PC-Q33 with custom side panels.
It's not exactly SFF in any way apart from enough space for ITX motherboards but it still doesn't as SFF. Mini tower yes but SFF? That's the nature of my complaints. SFF would be stuff like silverstone SFF cases and maybe jonsbo ITX cases.
This is the reason why I'm still promoting PCs built by people not corporations who are in for big profits with a boatload of marketing
