Having enjoyed building my two DIY Watercooled rigs, one my main rig, and the other my spare. I made the decision to dismantle and sell my spare rig, to opt for something more portable while still possessing the basic functionality and performance of a workstation/ gaming pc.

There are many gaming laptop options out there, so why choose Aftershock XG15-V3? The following are my own reasons and preferences that led me to this choice:
i) Supporting a local brand and setup
ii) Customization of what I wish for in a laptop
iii) One-stop shop to purchase my laptop and have custom painting done
iv) Decent reviews about Aftershock
v) How many laptop brands/models allow me to put one Msata and two 2.5 inch SSD/HDDs in?
vi) Lifetime IC Diamond thermal compound application for CPU and GPU to reduce your temps by a few degrees, how many laptop brands provides that?
vii) Reasonable pricing (Not the cheapest, but also not the most expensive). If you are looking for something that with stock/standard specifications and not much requirement on flexibility/customization, you may be better off with the mainstream brands.
Finally, I reached the part that I start sharing more about my new laptop. The Aftershock XG15-V3. The Tech Specs are HERE. The following picture shows the specs that I have ordered for my laptop, which cost around $2045 excluding the custom paint job.
They have also kindly helped me to install my Samsung 840 Pro and Sandisk Extreme SSDs that I took from my spare rig into the laptop. I would like to express my appreciation for the positive experience they have provided in responding to my queries or requests from before till after the purchasing of my laptop.
Next, there’s no better way to share what I have than through pictures:
Received my laptop in this unassuming and simple box, what’s important is what is inside :)
The laptop well protected by foam supports, power adapter, drivers, media software and manuals.
Thickness and size comparison with my work laptop, a Lenovo Thinkpad E431. I acknowledged that the XG15 is thicker, because I choose for a laptop model that can have more functionality and customization. (i.e more storage drives and optical drive)
For bros here who were lazy to check out the link above on the tech specs, the weight of the XG15-V3 is around 2.7kg +-, the dimensions are 374(W) X 250(D) X 16.3~42.7(H)mm.
To give you an idea of how the laptop battery looks like.
Side views where the ports and optical drive are.
I like that the vga port and power port is at the back, it reduces the clutter of cables if they are all at the sides.
