Cooler Master launches V1200 Platinum power supply

The V1200 can deliver 1200W of power, making it a perfect option for even the most demanding of high-end systems.

The most powerful video cards on the market today demand a lot of power. AMD’s Radeon R9 290X, R9 295X2 as well as Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 780 Ti all have hefty power requirements, and this is just one component. Processors, motherboards and coolers all have their own power requirements too. A low-end power supply, or one that can’t deliver enough juice, just won’t cut it anymore.

Enter Cooler Master’s recently launched V1200 Platinum power supply. The V1200 is able to deliver 1200W and comes with an 80 Plus Platinum certification, which means it’s able to deliver 93 percent efficiency at a 50 percent load. To keep things cool and noise under control, the PSU has a 135mm Fluid Dynamic Bearing fan.

As many gamers now have multiple graphics cards in their systems, there are a dozen PCI-E 6+2 pin PCI-E connectors. Each rail delivers 12 volts and up to 100A. Cooler Master says up to four graphics cards are supported with this PSU.

No word yet on availability or pricing, but expect both to be announced at Computex next month.
