SanDisk releases world's highest-capacity microSD card

SanDisk releases the world’s highest capacity microSDXC memory card at 128GB.

SanDisk announced today that its 128GB microSD card is now available for sale.* With an MSRP of $199.99, this memory card isn’t the most affordable storage device available.* For tech-enthusiasts that constantly need to draw data locally from their mobile gadgets, the 128GB microSD card is not a bad idea.

It was only about a decade ago that 128 MB SD cards were what you would consider ‘high-capacity.’* Fast forward a few years, and we have fingernail-sized memory cards that’s 1000X more storage space.* SanDisk claims the high-capacity microSD card will allow consumers to consolidate all their on-the-go data, and finally free themselves from having to constantly switch in and out different cards.

The SD card has transfer speeds of up to 30MB/s, which is quite impressive.* The write speed, however, is lower, as a variety of other factors will influence this (i.e. host device and usage condition).* It is also compatible with host devices that are microSDHC compliant.

While the MSRP is $199.00, Amazon is currently retailing the 128GB microSDXC for $119.9 plus free shipping.
