Was bored yesterday and thinking what to do with my paperwhite (i have a Kindle Fire HDX) so i tot maybe i can put some chinese book into my paperwhite...
So i was browsing thru google.. and found many site that have chinese book to download but they always require to sign in etc etc etc...
Then i went to China Amazon and started to browse... So tbere is a China Kindle Store with 66711 chinese books and 6021 free chinese books which include classic like 牡丹亭，桃花扇，长恨歌etc etc etc... MOST IMPORTANT ITS RMB YUAN!!!!
I start to meddle and nearly faint when i saw books selling at 10cent RMB!!!
To access to China Amazon Kindle Store on your paperwhite, You need to,
(Pls make sure you input 中国 as your home country)
Use a PC or Laptop or MAC to register an amazon account. Using papewhite to register is not recommended
1. Format Your PaperWhite
2. Choose 简体中文 at startup (can change to english at setting after setup)
3. Find a PC or MAC or Laptop to register an Account on AMAZON CHNA (type z.cn for easier access)
The hassle is actually registering on Amazon China, i suggest,
a. Use the same EMAIL ID as you did on other Amazon account. .UK .US .JP
b. Use a different Password (Don input the same password from your other amazon account)
c. Use a CHINA ADDRESS!! 国内(Utmost Importance) (Google VPOST for China Address)
d. (Optional) You can also use other Address but only KINDLE ACCESS COUNTRY. UK, US, JP
e. U can use Bank of China CC if you have one.. if not any CC will do. AMEX also can.
4. After registering an account, you can start to input into your kindle.
5. After setup, you are able to access to Kindle Store (Kindle 商场）Pls note, it is still in BETA MODE
6. Start to browse and download.
THE ONLY RESTRICTION IS CUSTOMER CAN ONLY DOWNLOAD 5 BOOKS IF YOU USE LOCAL IP TO ACCESS THE STORE (U NEED TO INFORM CHINA AMAZON CSO TO RESET THE QUOTA) (FOR VPN USER, THERE MAYBE NO RESTRICTION, PLS UPDATE ME IF YOU HAVE THE ANSWER.)
ONCE YOU REGISTERED YOUR KINDLE TO AMAZON CN, YOU CAN ACCESS YOUR PAPERWHITE ONLY AT AMAZON.CN MANAGE MY KINDLE.
YOU CAN CHANGE TO ENGLISH LANGUAGE AFTER SETTING UP
YOU CAN STILL UPLOAD YOUR ENGLISH BOOK THRU UR COMPUTER
YOUR PURCHASED BOOK FROM OTHER AMAZON ACCOUNT CANNOT BE TRANSFERRED
PROBLEM THAT WILL ARISE
1. Cannot download a single book. Keep prompting me to change my country to 中国 even thou i already input 中国.
To solve this problem, Use a VPN to download books. Another way is to...
1. Contact Amazon CSO (USE LIVE CHAT, PLS USE CHINESE INPUT) Tell them you are working/travelling in Singapore. CSO will tell you whether your kindle is block or not (Usually it wont be block) they will also explain DUE TO CHINA law, you can only download 5 books if you are in other country
2. Pls type politely and tell them you love reading so much u will die if you cant read or download book. They will tell you they will reset your quota and u are free to download books again.
