iOS 6 FaceTime issues can be resolved by updating firmware

Apple’s official remedy for FaceTime woes on iOS 6 is to upgrade to the latest software, iOS 7.x.

*Recently many users on iOS 6.x started experiencing issues with FaceTime, Apple’s homegrown video calling service. Apple has officially come out with a fix and its not one that iOS 6 fans will appreciate. The company says in a support document that the answer to these FaceTime issues is simple: just update your devices to the latest software in order to get rid of these problems.

This*document explains that devices powered by outdated software might have encountered a bug after April 16th due to a device certificate that expired on that date. The issue would plague FaceTime users on both ends even if one was running iOS 7 and the other a version of iOS 6.*Apple’s support document clearly lays down what users need to do if they want to have a flawless FaceTime experience.

“Updating both devices to the latest software will resolve this issue,” the document says adding that*“FaceTime calls will still fail if the iOS device or Mac that you’re trying to connect to isn’t up to date.”

There you have it. If someone is experiencing problems with FaceTime make sure that they’re running the latest software on their Apple mobile device. On Mac, users need to have OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 or higher.
